After completing my master’s degree in management at the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz, I started working as a Junior Consultant at HPP in the beginning of 2020.
I have always been impressed by consultancies, especially due to the great project variety in different industries and the wide range of tasks. For me, consulting stands for a steep learning curve and a high potential for personal and professional development opportunities.
Immediately after joining HPP I was involved in my first project at a large telecommunications company. The main focus of the project was the implementation of data protection measures of IT-systems within the company. Until then, I did not experience any touch points with the telecommunication industry during my professional career, which is why the project was very exciting and represented a new challenge for me. In particular, I supported the operational management and the goal-oriented implementation of the DSGVO- and IT-security measures.
We were a large team, consisting of Junior, Management and Senior Consultants as well as one Director. Therefore, I quickly learned the whole team dynamics and the importance of each role. The fast integration into the team, which was especially accompanied by a high delegation of responsibility, and the open feedback culture made the entry into the company as well as into the project easy. My career start was influenced by Corona, since the daily work business was transferred into the home office only three months after my first day at HPP. Despite the distance, we were able to serve our clients well and successfully complete the project.
For me, the term „HPP-family“ could be quickly confirmed. I was sincerely welcomed into the company, there is a strong mutual interest and togetherness is highly emphasized. The open door-policy provides for an open company culture and a pleasant working atmosphere. The team spirit among colleagues is very strong, which remained during harder times and the absence of real meetings.
The experiences, which I have gained at HPP until now, gave me the possibility to develop professionally as well as personally. In the future, I am looking forward to more interesting projects, exciting challenges and diverse tasks with great colleagues and clients.
